Cinnamon Buns

These cinnamon buns are easy peasy to make now that you know how to make pizza crust! Just use your pizza crust recipe but use 1tbsp of sugar instead of 1/4 tsp. I also like to substitute half of the water with warm buttermilk...it makes them soft and fluffy!

*To make 8 large cinnamon buns I double the recipe.

Now instead of rolling it out to fit a pizza pan, roll it out and smear it with softened butter. Then spread an even layer of brown sugar over the butter and sprinkle with lots of yummy cinnamon (about 2 tbsp)

Roll it up all the way to the end and pinch the long side together with your fingers.

Now cut it into equal pieces.

Place the pieces into a buttered oven safe baking dish. Make sure you leave some space around each piece so it has room to rise.

Let rise in a warm place until doubled in size.  (It usually take about an hour or so)
* Inside the oven with the light on is a good place...just do NOT turn the oven on!

When they are almost ready take them out of the oven. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

When the oven is preheated put the cinnamon buns back in the oven and bake them for about 20 minutes or until they are just turning golden brown. Remove from the oven and let them cool a bit.

If you want to have icing on them just get:

1/2c     icing sugar
1tsp     vanilla
            water

Mix the icing sugar and vanilla in a bowl and add just enough water to make a runny icing. Now just drizzle this over your slightly cooled cinnamon buns. YUMMY!!!!!

  1. For softer fluffier cinnamon buns you can use warm buttermilk instead of water. Give it a try!

  2. Why not make pumpkin spice cinnamon buns! Mix 1c of pumpkin purée with 1/4c of brown sugar some cinnamon and nutmeg and spread that over the butter instead of just plain cinnamon and brown sugar.

    It is DELICIOUS!!!!!
